A Greener Tomorrow for Coffee and Tea Drinkers Everywhere!

Posted by jane | | Posted on Wednesday, November 26, 2008

Hi Jane Fans and visitors!

We recently formed a licensing agreement with Mother Earth News to sell their premium line of Organic, Fair Trade, Shade grown coffee. It is an incredible product in flavor, and one that is friendly to our earth and its inhabitants. See the product offerings here: http://stores.cuppajane.com/-strse-template/motherearthnewsorganic/Page.bok

To get to my point, the new agreement brought our website a new type of customer: a customer that is more in tune with and sensitive to our environmental responsibilities. A very friendly, and outspoken Mother Earth customer, brought it to our attention that we were not living up to our responsibilities here at Cuppa Jane. She indicated that she could not support a company that sold foam cups and plastics so blatantly on our site.

So, instead of just blowing off these comments, I decided that in this case, the customer was right on the money. Why should we help market and sell products that are so harmful for our environment, when there are many available alternatives out there?

Effective this week, I removed our Solo white foam cups and lids from the site (they are the worst possible cup for the environment). We've left a few of the thin walled foam cups up just for the remainder of the year. This will allow those of you who use that particular product to fase them out of your pantry, and convert to something more eco-friendly. We will offer a paper line of cups very soon. We're looking into fully compostable cutlery and lids. However, we'd actually prefer that you purchase reusable cups and plates to eliminate the need for disposables all together!

If we all do what we can to promote a small footprint, we'll preserve our earth for many generations to come. If not, it could be a horrible picture for our descendents. At CuppaJane, we wish to continually evolve into a company that is more and more considerate of our fellow human beings and our environment.

Sincerely,

Cuppa Jane

Mother Earth News Organic, Fair Trade Coffee is Here!

Posted by jane | | Posted on Monday, October 20, 2008

I have some great news to announce this week, and a wonderful new product line to introduce! We've reached a licensing agreement with Mother Earth News (www.motherearthnews.com) to package a wonderful line of fair trade, organic, shade grown coffees and teas with their stamp of approval. Check out their website to learn more about Mother Earth News.

The full line of coffee and tea can be found here: http://stores.cuppajane.com/-strse-template/motherearthnewsorganic/Page.bok

I love all of them, in part because they are my babies. I put together the blends, and brought in my favorite origins. I have to say though, that the one that really stands out to me is the Dark Blend. It is like drinking liquid candy. It has a nice, smoothness to it that is hard to find in darkly roasted coffees. It is rich. It is sweet. It blends amazingly well with creamer. If you enjoy darkly roasted coffee, this is one for you to try, for sure. I doubt you'll be disappointed.

I hope some of you try the new triple certified Mother Earth News product line. Not only will you be enjoying some of the best products around, you'll also be doing some good for the environment, and your fellow humans.

Tea Time!

Posted by jane | | Posted on Friday, March 28, 2008

Hi everybody.

We've really been focusing on our tea inventory at www.cuppajane.com. I've also been drinking many of the options we have, and have been extremely impressed with some of our offerings. Premium tea drinking has really been on the rise here in the US lately, and I'm discovering why.

I have always been a coffee drinker at heart. My current favorite is our Guatemala Antigua, found at http://stores.cuppajane.com/-strse-325/Guatemala-Antigua-Molino-Royal/Detail.bok. However, I feel like I've been drinking a little too much. They always say that you should do everything in moderation, but I feel like I've been a little excessive with coffee.

I've discovered that a couple cups of tea in the afternoon to replace my coffee are wonderful. I find that the tea soothes my digestive system after lunch, and energizes me also for the rest of the day, even though it may be caffeine free!

Right now I'm pulling from an open box of Numi Rainforest Green Mate Lemon Myrtle, and love it. You can buy it here: http://stores.cuppajane.com/-strse-257/Numi-Rainforest-Green-Mate/Detail.bok. I find that Numi has a nice earthiness that you don't get from other teas.

Our most popular tea is the Tazo Wild Sweet Orange. You won't find a tea with a better aroma, I guarantee you. Buy here: http://stores.cuppajane.com/-strse-207/Tazo-Wild-Sweet-Orange/Detail.bok.

Next week we should be receiving some new powdered iced tea mixes from Stash. I tried the samples that they sent me and they are great! It is actually tea leaves smashed into a powder so that you can drink them in. You get the full nutritional value of the tea this way. They're very convenient. You can even pour them right into a bottle of water, shake and then enjoy. Give them a try and you won't be disappointed. Keep an eye on this section of our site for them to appear: http://stores.cuppajane.com/-strse-For-Your-Office-cln-Tea-cln-Stash/Categories.bok.

I'll try and keep you posted on all of the things I'm drinking from our inventory as I try them. With over 500 items to choose from at www.CuppaJane.com, it is difficult to keep up.

Have a wonderful weekend, and I'll be in touch.

New equipment on the way! Technivorm Specialty Coffee Certified Brewer, and Bunn Pod Brewer for our Java One coffees!

Posted by jane | | Posted on Thursday, January 24, 2008

Hi everybody.

I've been a busy bee keeping up with all of you that have taken advantage of our order doubling sale at www.cuppajane.com. I hope you're all enjoying our labor of love, and sharing with all of your friends since you have twice the coffee for the normal price.

I wanted to let you all know of some brewers that I have on the way for review. I ordered a Technivorm Thermo KB 741 which is supposed to be the best home brewer out there right now. I'm eager to run it through its paces and give you a review. Retail price will be somewhere around 250 bucks. I'll probably package it with some of our finest coffees of the world at no extra charge.

I also put the Bunn My Cafe pod brewer up on the site. You can check it out at: http://stores.homestead.com/cuppajane/-strse-423/Bunn-My-Cafe-Pod/Detail.bok
Looks like a great machine to use with our java one coffee pods. If you're into the single cup thing, it doesn't look like you can go wrong with this machine. It has very favorable reviews and the backing of Bunn-o-matic, a top company in brewing equipment. We're selling it well below retail, and will throw in a box of pods with your order.

As I promised, the equipment section of our site will continue to grow. We rep for almost all major commercial equipment companies, but have not had the time to get it up on the site. If there is something you're looking for, don't hesitate to call us at 800-227-3662.

I hope you're all doing well and ready to romance the valentine in your life. We'll be sending out a valentine's offer, and it will probably involve a newly developed coffee flavor - cinnamon angel kisses! Sounds yummy huh?

Thanks for taking the time to read my blogging. I'll hopefully be back again shortly with more great deals and products to introduce.

Jane is finally in business!!!

Posted by jane | | Posted on Thursday, November 29, 2007

www.cuppajane.com

Wow! I can't believe that my site is up and running, finally. It seemed that I kept saying "I'll be open in a month" for about six months. I had no idea the amount of details that had to be attended to in order to get all of our items up and running. Not to mention the process of developing our entirely new product line of cuppa jane coffees and cappuccinos.

Needless to say, I've had to iron out a lot of kinks in the system. In fact it seemed that I didn't stop working for a few days straight there in order to process orders that have been coming in, manage systems and handle production of all the FRESHLY ROASTED TO ORDER coffees that we offer. I might need to hire a helper if things keep up.

I sincerely appreciate all of you that have viewed my site, and especially those who took the extra step and placed an order. I'm so honored to be your coffee gal.

One thing that I wanted to mention is that far too many of you are ordering your coffee pre-ground. Don't get me wrong, I love the smell of your coffee as it is grinding, but you are losing valuable taste points in the process. The coffee we offer here at cuppa jane is top notch, and it is really a shame to waste the intrinsic value of the coffee. So, your assignment is this: Go to your favorite thrift mart, and pick up a 10.00 grinder. Once you're used to grinding your own coffee, you'll never turn back as you discover all of the flavor that you've been missing out on. If you like flavored coffee, you might just buy 2 of those 10.00 grinders so you don't contaminate your regular coffee with the oils of the flavored beans. I bet they'd even fit in a stocking :)!

Anyway, that is my advice for the week. I hope to expand our brewing equipment offerings very soon, so keep checking out that department. It has also been suggested that I offer a variety pack of small single pot samples so that customers can try several options without commiting to a full bag. So, I'll probably get around to that by mother's day if more of you confirm that is a good idea.

Have a wonderful holiday season, and I hope to be hearing from more of you very soon!

Jane
